MORANE is a project started in the early 2000's by house music producer and Perlon co-founder Markus Nikolai with songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Theo Krieger (who teamed up with Markus years ago and already played all acoustic instruments on his album) and singer & bass player Annika Müller de Vries. Morane line-up consists of a guitar, bass, various other instruments and a computer. Morane released two 12-inch records on Perlon (PERL 34 and PERL 44 The Beach) and their debut album with pop material was later presented by Nikolai and Krieger's newly established label More Down Than Out.
