born April 06, 1917 in Horn Lake, Mississippi, USA (other sources say 1918) died December 8, 1981 in Chicago, Illinois, USA American blues harmonica player usually billed as Big Walter Horton or Walter "Shakey" Horton, He learnt to play in the thirties in Memphis, started recording in 1939 with Little Buddy Doyle. In 1953 he also played with Muddy Waters.
