Bio

Lyonese of origin and music enthusiast, Jo Donna began his career in 1947 while becoming singer from the orchestra of Jacques Hélian in 1947. From 1949 to 1960 it will make a career solo, recording more than 20 discs, including one devoted to the music of the film “Caroline cherished”, first name which it will give to his daughter. In 1960, at the request of Agathe Mella, it arrives on Paris Inter every Saturday evening for a live hour and in the middle of the balls with the “Club rtf Dances” which, prolonged one hour by Roland Dhordain, becomes “Inter Dance” starting from 1965 on France Inter. In 1982, Jo Dona creates the “World one Inter Dance” opening a window on the music of dance of other countries and continents. It also turns to a younger public while launching the “Hit of the clubs Inter Dance” presented by 1984 by Bernard Lorre who will receive Daft Punk, Mad in bets, Charles Aznavour, Menelik, Native, Laurent Voulzy and most artists who make dance France and Europe. Author of “Dance cards”, Jo Dona recorded in 1995 4 CD devoted to the love song and the Italian song of which “Inter Dance celebrates 30 years of success” and “50 years of dances and songs, memory of Italy”. Jo Dona had retired last June. In an official statement published this Monday, November 3, France Inter “joins sorrow its close relations, of his wife and her daughter Caroline”.
