Biographie

BMG is a joint venture between the international media company Bertelsmann AG and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., a global alternative asset manager. The company trades under the name BMG Chrysalis in the United States of America, the United Kingdom and Sweden following the acquisition of Chrysalis plc. In 2012, after BMGRM tried to buy the recorded-music assets of EMI, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co.’s share of the company was bought out by Bertelsmann. It is the successor of the original Bertelsmann Music Group, but it has nothing in common with its former incarnation (which is now the RCA Records division of Sony Music), save for its ownership.
