Richardas Norvila, Dr. Phil. - born 1961 in Lithuania, an alchemist, lives and works in Moscow. Start working with USSR synthesizers and other analog devices as Benzo (comes from "benzin" (Russian word for gasoline))in 1998. Later Benzo incorporates in his studio more and more instruments and special devices, ordered by contemporary Russian technicians. Also vintage ATARI and Macintosh Computers (OS 7.1 - 9.0.4 only) added. Benzo live performances were presented in the festivals like Donaufestival, Avanto,Transmediale, The Morning Line and many others. Companies like Nokia, Land Rover and Honda commissioned Benzo performances for their media events. Now Benzo goes more and more into distillate his sounds - using vintage samplers and tape machines and continuous create experimental and underground dance music as well.
